About the Author

Aubrey Turner combines her lifelong love of animals and writing to be a voice for animals who can’t speak for themselves. Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she earned multiple Scholastic Key Awards for her short stories as a teenager. Inspired by her rescue dog, Aubrey began sharing stories that celebrate the bond between animals and the people who love them. When she’s not writing, you can find her hiking local trails, searching the city for the perfect matcha latte, or spending time at home with her wife, Kori, her dog, Bruce, and her four cats, Dragon, Dante, Trout, and Pike.

Bruce thought you guys were overdue for a good dad joke, and frankly I couldn’t agree more! His voice is music to my ears 🥹🫶🏼 Don’t worry, I promise he won’t bite! Bruce may have amassed an impressive toy collection since his adoption…but out of all of his toys, his lamb chops are still easily his favorite 🤍🐑 Easily the best lunch break I’ve ever had 🥹 Anticipatory grief is very real. This one is a real head scratcher 🤔 Bruce went on his longest walk ever today & had SUCH a good time! 🥹 I begged & begged for a dog, along with my siblings, when I was 5 years old. I specifically begged for a golden retriever, but we ended up getting a sweet, loving labradoodle instead who became my first soul dog (& first ever dog!).
